It’s the end of the year.
The busy holiday season has slowed down.
It’s a great time for reflection.
Thinking about what you’re grateful for in your life.
It’s also time to start thinking about the new year that’s beginning.
For the upcoming year, I recommend you start your very own gratitude jar…
So, what’s a gratitude jar?
A gratitude jar is where you place notes you write that include something you’re grateful for in your life. You can do this daily, weekly, or whenever a grateful thought crosses your mind. Then you review your notes in your gratitude jar monthly or at the end of the year. This can be fun for families, friends, partners, businesses, or for you personally to experience.
Here are a few ideas for what you can write about and put in your gratitude jar. You can also do one gratitude jar for personal and one for business.
A Personal Gratitude Jar
- Special trips you experienced
- Conversations you shared
- Personal goals you met
- Memories you created
- Family celebrations and successes
- Inspiring quotes you read that made a difference in your day
- Things you organized
- Your home, family, or friends
A Business Gratitude Jar
- Client testimonials
- Goals you reached
- Challenges you overcame and learned from
- Impact you made
- Relationships you’ve created
- Employee achievements
- Special moments with clients
Creating a gratitude jar
- Gratitude jars don’t have to be jars, they could be a box, basket, or bowl. Or even a gratitude journal. Basically, somewhere you can capture your thoughts.
- Decorate your gratitude jar with ribbons or stickers, have fun with it.
- Place your gratitude jar in a place where you see it easily every day, like in the kitchen, entry way, dinner table, or on your nightstand.
- For the gratitude notes you could use sticky notes or colorful scraps of paper, be creative.
- Or you can order beautiful gratitude jars and note cards online at Etsy or Amazon.
Enjoy the memories you create and capture them with your gratitude jar
Have fun with your gratitude jar.
Take time to be grateful for the people, experiences, and things in your life.
Being grateful is healthy for your mind, body, and soul.
Enjoy your reflections and your gratitude jar.
I wish you the best for this upcoming year!
