I can’t believe I got to meet Marie Kondo…
The Marie Kondo Consultant Training in Chicago, May 2017, was an amazing experience for me. I have always been an organized individual and love to learn, so I knew when I saw this Marie Kondo Consultant Training being offered it was a perfect fit for me. I already owned a side business, Design Transitions, that offers home organization, virtual interior and exterior design, and thought this would be a great way to expand my skills.
I first was inspired by Marie Kondo’s two best selling books…
I actually didn’t know about this Marie Kondo Consultant Training until after I had read Marie Kondo’s two books, “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: the Japanese art of decluttering and organizing” and “Spark Joy: an illustrated master class on the art of organizing and tidying up”. I was fascinated and intrigued by the uniqueness of Marie Kondo’s decluttering strategies in her first book. I was so inspired by what she wrote, I read both her books in about four days straight…I could not put them down. That is when I went to her website and found out about the consultant training.
Then, I jumped in and signed up for the Marie Kondo Consultant Training Seminar…
After reading her two books, I signed up that day for the Marie Kondo Consultant Training. I found out that prior to going to the seminar it was a prerequisite to read both her books (which was done already), complete the Marie Kondo method on my own things, and then submit after photos just to attend. I was eager to complete this challenge. I completed the tidying in my own home in about three weeks time, submitted my photos, and was approved to attend the training. I was so excited! I knew it was important to experience the tidying process before teaching the Marie Kondo method to others.
I was so grateful for the life-changing results after completing the Marie Kondo method in my own home…
This tidying process was life changing for myself, and I have enjoyed my home and belongings so much more. I achieved a whole new level of freedom in my own home after completing this process. There was no more burden in my mind about what was in my closets or what I owned, I loved them all and this gave me a life-changing perspective on having joy in my own home. I believe that I have been able to focus more on things that I am passionate about, and been much more relaxed at home.
I gained insight into the worldly knowledge at the Marie Kondo Consultant Training…
At the Marie Kondo Consultant Training in Chicago of May 2017 I stayed at a beautiful hotel, The Gwen, where the seminar was held. The seminar was presented in Japanese with an interpreter, which I found fascinating in itself. The content and real life scenarios that were discussed were very valuable, in preparation for becoming a Marie Kondo Tidying Consultant. There were about 80 people in attendance from 20 different countries. It was amazing to meet so many wonderful people all with the common passion for organizing and decluttering. I learned so much!
I continued training, to become a Marie Kondo Tidying Consultant…
When I wrote this blog I was still working on the training hours needed to become a Marie Kondo Tidying Consultant, and was getting close. I hope to finish by next month. I am passionate about helping others declutter and bring joy into their homes.
(Update May 2018: I completed my former Marie Kondo Consultant Certification in May 2018, and became the first Marie Kondo Tidying Consultant in Denver, Colorado, 3rd in Colorado, 76th in the United States, and 133rd in the World. I decided to end my Marie Kondo Consultant certification in May 2023)
Happy tidying and decluttering!
